Big weekend at Oaklands

There’s plenty of action at Oaklands this weekend, with 12 games including free entry for both the senior women and men on Saturday.

Wolves’ U-16 girls open the day’s action when Tor Freeman will take a final look at his squad as they host Cambridge Cats at 11am before the U-16 boys play their first competitive game of the season, hosting Brentwood Fire in the National Cup at 1.30pm.

There’s a massive task for Wolves WBBL team as they host arguably the best women’s side British basketball has ever seen at 4.15pm. Freeman’s team will certainly have their work cup out against a London Lions side who completed a domestic treble last season, winning all 34 games, as well as reaching the knockout stage of the Women’s EuroCup, beating European powerhouse Bourges on the way.

The day’s final game sees Lee Ryan’s men’s team hosting Westminster Warriors in the KitKing Trophy at 7pm. The young Wolves have had a tough time against Division One opposition this season but Saturday evening’s game should prove a good test for them.

Sunday sees Wolves hosting another pair of pre-season tournaments for the juniors, with the uinder=14s playing playing a pair of games, with the action taking place between 12.20-6pm.
