Double success for Wolves

There was success for both Wolves teams in action this weekend as the U-16 boys progressed in the National Cup and their U-14 counterparts picked up a second league victory.

Having reached the Cup semi-final last season, Adam Pearce's U-16 side are through to the last 16 following a 53-32 victory at Cambridge Cat.

Daniel Kostadinov (pictured) continued his excellent start to the season with 23 points, seven rebounds, four assists and as many steals as Wolves never looked back after a strong first half which saw them build on a 14-8 start to go into the locker room 28-12 ahead. A 16-10 third quarter effectively wrapped things up for the visitors as they led 44-22 at the final break before the hosts edged a low-scoring final stanza.

Lanre Pratt had a massive 15 rebounds to go with his five points, four steals and three assists while Milic Pavic added seven points and five boards.

Meanwhile Michael Ball continued his winning streak as a stand-in coach as the U-14s survived a comeback from hosts Northampton Titans to win 57-51.

Wolves led 19-14 at the first break and went into the locker room with a 36-24 lead. That advantage grew to 50-30 at the final break before a 21-7 fourth period from the home side left the visitors nervously hanging on.

All ten players got on the scoresheet for Wolves. led by Ricky Amrania and Seth Coetzee on eight apiece, adding nine and 11 rebounds respectively. Jacob Edrupt added seven points, eight boards and five steals, while Jeremy Akpan, Eddie Hearn and Uros Skipic-Piscitelli all finished with six points apiece.
