Gould is gold for Wolfpack

Oaklands Wolves has signed Australian stand-out Cassidy Gould for the 2022/23 WBBL season. Gould, a 5’10 versatile guard, joins the Wolves for her first professional contract after completing an outstanding US college career. A four year athlete at Davidson College, Gould captained the program during her senior year where she was also named to the A-10 conference honour role upon graduation. Gould started 106 of her 118 total Wildcats appearances, and finished with 901 points, 318 assists and 448 rebounds showing her all round ability to influence the game at the highest level.

Prior to Davidson Gould was selected to play at State and Nationally at multiple age groups which included her being selected at the U17 Oceania Championships where Australia won the Gold Medal. In the Seasons leading to her switch to a US scholarship, Gould was a two year development player for the Melbourne Boomers in the WNBL. The player comes with a high pedigree and is looking forward to her debut professional season. She had this to say on the signing “I’m super grateful for the opportunity to play my first WBBL season with Oaklands Wolves. I’m excited to see how far we can go, and can’t wait to help lead and grow the young group with my fellow Aussies!!” Oaklands head of performance Lee Ryan was ecstatic to bring Gould to the Wolves, he said “Cassidy is a high calibre player and a high calibre person. She is the perfect fit for Oaklands in the WBBL! She is someone who the academy players can look up to on a daily basis, learn what elite players are all about and emulate everything she does on and off the basketball court. She has all the qualities to be a stand out player in this league and go on to have an exceptional professional career.” Cassidy will take to the court for the first time today in the WBBL Cup game as the Wolves travel to Nottingham.
