Mixed results for under-14s

There were mixed results for Wolves under-14 teams as they both traveled to Essex with the girls continuing their push for the East Division title with an 80-16 victory at Braintree Blue Devils but a depleted boys' team went down 67-44 at Brentwood Fire.

It was the girls first game in six weeks, coincidentally against the same opposition, and led by Kaiya Bateman 16 points they had little trouble as they recorded their sixth league win in seven games.

The boys' trip to Billericay to face Fire saw them without two starters with another two carrying knocks and playing limited minutes. But Camron Turner set the tone at the start of the game knocking down a pair of threes as Wolves fought back from an 18-17 first period deficit to lead .29-27 at half-time.

After the break the transition offence from Brentwood resulted a high percentage of points scored and Wolves struggled on offence as they opened a 51-36 lead at the final break and outscored Wolves 16-8 in the final period. This ended up being the difference but a valiant effort for the visitors. Turner led the way with 10 points, three rebounds and four steals while Leo Milea had a massive 15 rebounds to go with his nine points, and four steals. Jayden Harry added three boards and as many assists along with his six points. Cian Stylianou had five points while Kim Robinson and Jayan Pisharody finished with four points apiece.
