Sweet revenge for U-16 girls

Revenge was sweet for Wolves U-16 girls as they comfortably beat London Lions 84-62, on Sunday.

Tor Freeman's side had lost a controversial game by two points when they visited East London in December but they never looked back after scoring the first six points and then opening a 15-3 lead after eight minutes.

Caitlin Ryan's 17 point, 13 rebound double-double led the way, adding four assists and three blocks, with Stella Ekblad-Piscatelli also finishing on 17 points (and eight boards) as Wolves kept their play-off chances alive.

Wolves scored the final five points of the first period to lead 21-7 at the first break and a Lily Harkness triple helped extend that lead to 43-27 going into the locker room. Ryan also dropped a trey as Wolves; lead grew to 66-49 and Freeman was able to give all his roster decent court time - in contrast to the visitors - as they collected their 12th win of the season.

A perfect weekend for Wolves' four NBL team was completed by the U-14 girls making three wins on the bounce with a 60-38 victory against Cambridge Cats

Led by 17 points from Lucy Conlan and 16 from Chloe Chang, Wolves never looked back after a 14-4 first period.

The lead grew to 32-15 at half-time before the sides shared 22 third period points and the hosts wrapped things up with a 17-12 final frame. Captain Sophie Walsh added ten points while Gauri added six,
