Wolves' U-14 girls collected their third league victory of the season as Essex Rebels were beaten 37-35 in a thriller, on Saturday.
Sophie Walsh converted a pair of free-throws with just over two minutes on the clock and both teams had multiple chances to change the scoreline before the final buzzer went to leave the visitors celebrating the win.
Lucy Conlah Wolves with 13 points, with Walsh adding 12 Chloe Chan six.
Ibrahim Gariba's team led 11-10 at the first break before a low-scoring second period saw the teams share 12 points. Rebels pulled away to lead 33-28 at the end of third quarter before being held to just two points in the final frame as Wolves wrapped up the victory.
There was also road success for the U-16 boys as they returned from Brentwood Fire with a 58-55 victory.
Adam Pearce's side were 19-12 ahead at the first break but Fire fought back to lead 34-31 going into the half-time break. The teams shared 20 points in the third period before Wolves finished strongly to win the fourth quarter 17-11 and record their sixth victory of the campaign.
Ben Hodges led Wolves for the first time this season, finishing with 13 points, three assists and two steals. Milic Pavic and Dan Kostadinov each finished with 12 points and three rebounds, the former adding three assists and two steals while the latter had three steals. Lanre Pratt added five boards to his ten points.
In contrast, Wolves U-16 girls saw their South Premier title hopes take a massive hit as they went down 60-41 at Richmond Knights.
In their poorest performance of the season, Wolves only trailed 19-18 at the first break, and were still in the game at half-time despite the hosts holding a 31-25 lead. But the third period started badly, leading to coach Tor Freeman calling a quick timeout before benching the starters. The bench were unable to stop the bleeding and the hosts went into the final break leading 47-32 before wrapping things up with a 13-9 fourth quarter.
Paris Tyson led Wolves with 13 points and nine rebounds, with Stella Piscetelli-Ekblad adding nine point and five boards, while Caitlin Ryan had six points, five rebounds and four steals.
One game Wolves couldn't lose was Saturday's friendly between the U-14 boys and the U-13 boys performance team, with the older side running out 89-64 winners.
In their first full-length game, the U-13s only trailed 19-18 at the first break but found the going tough after that with the U-14s leading 39-30 at the half-time. A 23-12 third period effectively wrapped up the U-14s win before they outscored the younger team 27-22 in the final quarter.
