Winning day for boys

It was a successful day for Wolves boys at the Oaklands U-13 League as they won all four games on Sunday.

The under-13 performance side led the way with a combined winning margin of 126 points across their two games, while the U-12s and U-13 Development A sides both comfortably defeated Stevenage Royals.

With flu sweeping through the U-13s squads, it was a depleted U-12 team that took to the floor for the first game and it wasn't until midway through the third period that they recruited a sixth man to allow the starters to grab a quick breather. Despite that, they led from tip to buzzer on the way to a 59-32 victory. They led 10-6 at the first break before dominating the second period to go into half-time 31-10 ahead. That lead was extended to 49-22 at the final break before they wrapped up the win with by sharing 20 fourth quarter points.

Max Bretherton led Wolves with 16 points, with Rocky Starr adding 15 and Tristan Ball 12.

Royals stayed on the court to face Wolves Development A team and produced a better performance before going down 48-28. Wolves raced into an 18-6 lead before being pegged back to 26-16 at half-time. A 10-6 third period extended that lead before an 8-6 final period wrapped up the win. Emir Milad's s 12 points led the hosts, with Sam Rathbone, Max Lukaszewicz and Jovanni Peter-Idah all adding ten each.

Wolves Performance team showed a depleted Brentwood Leopards no mercy as they ran out 89-14 winners. A 26-0 first period set the tone and it was 56-4 going into the half-time break before the win was completed with 14-4 and 19-6 periods. Max Faucherand and Titouan Vimeux led Wolves with 14 points apiece, with Eriko Brakollari getting 12 and Caiden Ilouno11.

Leopards' miserable day was completed by a 50-16 loss against West Herts Warriors before Wolves returned to action to face Warriors in the day's final game and it proved to be another good performance from the hosts as they ran out 78-27 winners.

Ibrahim Gariba's side started well, leading 18-10 at the first break, but it was the second period where they outscored the visitors 20-2 that set them up for the win. The margin was extended 52-19 before a 26-8 final frame saw Wolves continue their unbeaten CVL season.

Faucherand and Brakollari led the scoring with 16 and 14 points apiece, while Liam Schertal added 12.
